Howard Nicholson
Technical Director
Howard is a metallurgist with 45 years of experience in project development and mine operations management. Formerly the COO of European Minerals Corporation, he contributed to the development of a large copper-gold mine in Kazakhstan, and prior to this had held senior management positions with Ashanti Goldfields, Lonrho, and Anglo American.

Scott Yelland
Senior Technical Adviser
Scott is a mining engineer with over 42 years’ experience in underground and surface mining operations. Before joining CAML, he was COO of Shanta Gold and has previously held senior executive roles with Konkola Copper Mines, Highland Gold Mining, Forte Energy and Berkeley Resources. Scott has a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering from the Camborne School of Mines, and started his career working in the Cornish tin mines. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Megan Farrell
Head of Sustainability
Megan is an environmental engineer and sustainability professional with nearly a decade of experience in environmental management. Prior to joining CAML, she held various roles with Golder Associates Ltd, working on both International and UK-based projects. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of Portsmouth, and an MSc in Water and Environmental Engineering from the University of Surrey. She is a Fellow of the Geological Society.

Vitaliy Logachyov
General Director of Kounrad Copper Company, Kounrad
Vitaliy is an engineer and economist with degrees from the Zhezkazgan University and Almaty International Transport and Humanitarian University respectively. He has significant experience in both the Kazakh mining and electrical industries and joined CAML in 2014. His initial role with the Group was as a Chief Power Engineer before working his way up to become Production Director, Technical Director and, as of 2024, General Director. He is a Russian national.

Raulan Kozgambayev
General Director of Sary Kazna, Kounrad
Raulan is an economist with a degree from the Kazakh State Academy of Management. He has significant experience in the Kazakh mining industry and joined CAML in 2013 as Kounrad’s lead economist. Raulan was appointed Deputy General Director of the Kounrad operation in 2018 and General Director of Sary Kazna in 2024. He is a Kazakh national.

Jamie Karamatic
General Director, Sasa
Jamie is a mining engineer with over 20 years of experience in underground and open-pit operations in Australia, Africa and the Middle East, in gold and base metals. Before joining CAML, Jamie was Technical Services Manager at AMAK Mining Company in Saudi Arabia, where he led technical functions across several base metals and gold deposits, increasing and optimising technical support to improve operational performance. He has also held senior leadership roles at in Australia at Aeris Resources in New South Wales, where he managed Technical Services for three underground base metals mines and processing plants during a period of post-COVID recovery. Jamie holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from the University of Ballarat, Australia.

Ivica Talevski
Deputy General Director, Sasa
Ivica joined the procurement department at Sasa in 2016 and was promoted to Commercial Director in 2018. Prior to working at Sasa, he held senior procurement roles with SGSM whilst that group was constructing a key strategic gas pipeline in North Macedonia. Ivica previously spent almost five years working in procurement and supply management with US company, KBR, which was awarded a logistics contract by the US Government and the Department of Defense in order to support armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ivica holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and an MBA, and was appointed Sasa’s Deputy General Director in 2020.
