CAML recognised that environmental education plays a key role in promoting long-term sustainability. In 2024, Sasa began developing a biodiversity handbook for local schoolchildren, featuring key species from the Osogovo Mountains protected area.

Written by a national biodiversity specialist and illustrated by a local female student from Makedonska Kamenica, the handbook combined scientific expertise with local talent. It was launched on the International Day of Education 2025 to raise awareness of biodiversity and the importance of conservation.

At Kounrad, CAML celebrated Earth Day 2024 with a biodiversity-themed art competition, encouraging students to engage creatively with local conservation efforts. These initiatives reflected CAML’s broader commitment to sustainability, education and responsible resource management – helping to create lasting value for our communities.
